# Add-ons & seats

> Buy prepaid resolution and AI credit packs, and add agent seats to your plan.

Add-ons let you buy ahead of usage or grow your team. Prepaid packs cover
resolutions and Nova (AI Operator) credits. Seats are recurring add-ons billed
each month.

  **Prepaid packs** need **Growth**: Starter accounts must upgrade to buy them.
  **Agent seats** can be added on either Starter or Growth. Enterprise accounts
  arrange add-ons with our sales team.

<Note>
  You cannot buy seats while you are on a free trial, because seats start a
  recurring charge and a trial has no card on file. [Activate a
  plan](/documentation/billing/free-trial#activate-a-paid-plan) first.

## Prepaid packs

Packs are a one-time purchase. The balance is added to your account and used
before any pay-as-you-go overage is billed. Packs never expire, stack on top of
each other, and roll over between periods. Available pack sizes and current
prices appear in the pack picker.

### Resolution packs

Growth accounts can buy prepaid resolution packs in several sizes. Larger packs
offer a lower effective rate per resolution.

### Nova (AI Operator) credit packs

Growth accounts can buy prepaid credit packs in several sizes. Packs are
consumed before any credit overage is billed.

### Buy a pack

    On [Billing](https://platform.typewise.app/billing), open the **Plan &
    limits** tab and click **Buy addon**.

    Choose **Resolutions** or **Nova (AI Operator) credits**.

    Select a pack and complete the secure checkout. After payment, the balance
    appears on your Plan & limits tab.

## Agent seats

Seats are billed monthly, not as a one-time pack. Each plan includes some seats;
Growth includes more than Starter. On both Starter and Growth you can add and
remove seats from the pack picker; the monthly total appears before you confirm.
Current seat pricing and your included seat count are shown in Billing.

  Because Starter can add seats but cannot buy packs, a Starter account opening
  **Buy addon** goes straight to the **Agent seats** tab.

    In **Buy addon**, open the **Agent seats** tab.

  <Step title="Choose a quantity">
    Pick how many seats to add. The review step shows the monthly total for that
    quantity.

  <Step title="Confirm">
    Confirm to add the seats. There is no separate checkout; the seats are added
    to your plan and billed on your next monthly invoice.

### Remove seats

Use the same tab to give seats back. Choose a **negative** quantity, review, and
confirm; the review step shows how much your recurring charge drops. The
reduction takes effect from your next invoice.

<Note>
  You can only give back seats that nobody is using. Seats occupied by users
  beyond what your plan includes cannot be removed, so remove those users first.
  The picker will not let you go below that floor.
