## Connect

You need admin access to the Azure portal and to the Power Platform admin center
for your Dynamics 365 environment.

**1. Copy your tenant ID**

In the [Azure portal](https://portal.azure.com/), open **Microsoft Entra ID**, go to **Overview**, and copy the **Directory (tenant) ID**.

**2. Register an app**

In **Microsoft Entra ID**, go to **App registrations** and click **New registration**. Name the app, choose **Accounts in this organizational directory only**, and click **Register**.

Copy the **Application (client) ID** from the app's **Overview** page. Refer to [Microsoft's documentation](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity-platform/quickstart-register-app) for details.

**3. Create a client secret**

In the app registration, go to **Certificates & secrets** and click **New client secret**. Add a description, choose an expiry, and click **Add**.

> [!NOTE]
>
> The secret value is only shown once, so copy and store it securely.

**4. Add the app as an application user**

In the [Power Platform admin center](https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/), select your Dynamics 365 environment and go to **Settings** → **Users + permissions** → **Application users**. Click **New app user** and select the app you registered.

Assign a security role that can create, read, and write **Cases**, **Contacts**, and **Notes**. Refer to [Microsoft's documentation](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/manage-application-users) for details.

**5. Connect Microsoft Dynamics 365 in Typewise**

In Typewise, go to **Integrations**, find Microsoft Dynamics 365, and click **Install**. You'll need:

* **Tenant ID:** The directory (tenant) ID from the first step.
* **Dynamics 365 URL:** The URL of your Dynamics 365 environment, for example `https://acme.crm.dynamics.com`.
* **Client ID:** The application (client) ID of the app you registered.
* **Client Secret:** The secret value you copied.

After you click **Install**, Microsoft Dynamics 365 should be connected successfully.

## Hand off and back up tickets

Once connected, MS Dynamics 365 appears under **Ticket Handoff** and **Ticket
Backup** in your [company configuration](https://docs.typewise.app/documentation/behavior/company.md). The
integration has no lookups or actions yet. Contact us if you need one.
