Typewise meters four things: agent seats, Nova (AI Operator) credits, resolutions, and workspaces. Each plan includes a set amount. Your current allowances appear on the Plan & limits tab. This page explains what happens when you approach or pass a limit, and where to see your usage.

What is metered

Soft cap means you can go over the included amount when billing allows it. Hard cap means the action is blocked at the limit, with no overage charge. Channels are also a hard limit set by your plan: Starter cannot use WhatsApp, Growth can.
On a free trial every allowance behaves as a hard cap, because trial usage is never billable. See When the trial ends.
The workspace your account starts with counts towards the workspace limit, so on Starter and Growth it is the one workspace your plan includes.

How resolutions are counted

A full resolution counts as 1 unit and a partial resolution counts as 0.5 units. Resolutions on playground tickets and simulator test runs are not billed. See Resolution status for how each outcome maps to billing. Pay-as-you-go resolutions are normally billed at the end of the period, but once you pass 500 in a period they are invoiced immediately instead. See Mid-cycle resolution charges.

When Nova is blocked

On a paid plan, Nova (AI Operator) runs are blocked when your credit usage reaches the included allowance plus any prepaid credit balance, and either:
  • you have no payment method on file, or
  • Automatically charge for overages is off.
Turning auto-charge on, adding a payment method, or buying a credit pack (Growth and higher) restores access. Resolutions are never blocked by the soft-cap gate; they continue as pay-as-you-go. On a free trial neither of those conditions matters. Trial usage is never billable, so Nova is blocked as soon as the trial credit allowance runs out, regardless of the auto-charge setting or a card on file. Activating a plan is the only way to continue, and it carries your unused allowance over as a prepaid balance.

Limit states

Each dimension shows a state based on how much of its allowance you have used.

Usage notifications

Typewise emails the account when usage reaches 75%, 95%, and 100% of an allowance. Each threshold sends once per dimension per billing period, so you are not flooded with reminders.

Track your usage

Open the Plan & limits tab on Billing to see:
  • Billing period and days left: the current cycle and time remaining.
  • Estimated upcoming bill: a running total for the period. Hidden during the trial, for Enterprise, and once a plan has ended, since there is no next bill in those cases. Click it to open the Invoices tab.
  • Limits list: usage bars for seats, credits, workspaces, and resolutions.
  • Daily activity chart: usage per day, switchable between dimensions such as credits and resolutions.
  • AI Operator usage: two tables, one for conversations (tickets) and one for AI Operator chats, both paginated and filterable.
  • Download usage: export your usage as a spreadsheet.
