Shortcuts in Typewise depend on where you are. The same key does different things in a ticket reply, in Nova, and in the chat widget your customers use, so this page is grouped by surface.
Ctrl is the Windows and Linux modifier, Cmd the macOS one. Where both work, they are listed below as Ctrl / Cmd.

Sending a reply

In the composer, Enter never sends. What sends depends on the ticket’s channel:
This is deliberate: Enter inserts a line break so a half-written reply is never sent by accident.
Internal notes, forwarded messages, new outbound emails, and edits to an AI draft have no send shortcut either — send those with the button.

Formatting text

These work in any composer that offers a formatting toolbar, including replies, notes, and instruction fields. Links have no shortcut — add one with the link button in the toolbar. Two characters open a menu as you type rather than acting as shortcuts: @ for mentions in notes, and {{ for context variables in fields that support them.

Nova

In a composer where Nova’s text actions are available, Ctrl/Cmd + K opens the Nova menu instead of the panel.
Nova’s composer sends on Enter — the opposite of a ticket reply.

These apply to the widget your customers use, not to the agent view:

Simulator

In the Simulator’s customer-side email view, Ctrl + Enter sends the email.
This one is Ctrl on every operating system, including macOS, where Cmd + Enter does not send.
Menus, dropdowns, and dialogs follow the usual keys: arrow keys to move, Enter to pick the highlighted entry, Esc to close. Typing filters the list where a menu has a search box.
